Construction has begun on the new Senior Activity Center: A Smittcamp Family Legacy!
Construction has begun at the Landmark Square site located on 3rd Street, just east of Clovis Avenue in Clovis. The new senior activity center will more than double the size of the current senior center and will include a 300-person banquet hall with a stage, rooms for enrichment classes, billiards, and a gym. The Smittcamp Family Foundation has generously donated one million dollars towards the Senior Activity Center, which will officially be called the Clovis Senior Activity Center: A Smittcamp Family Legacy. Naming rights for rooms within the building are available for groups or individuals who desire to be part of this legacy project.
In addition to the senior center, the William H. “Harry” Armstrong Transit Center is on the same site along with a new Fresno County Library. The project represents a significant dedication to serving the residents of Clovis and we are excited to see it begin. The Landmark Square project will take place in several phases, with the Senior Activity Center expected to open sometime in 2023.
