Serving Clovis Seniors For Over Thirty Years

Officially established in 1977 by Joint Powers Agreement between City of Clovis, Clovis Unified School District, and the Clovis Memorial District, the Advisory Committee on Senior Activities includes seven appointed representatives with a shared mission to promote independence and self-sufficiency among older adult residents of Clovis. The Committee coordinates a comprehensive Senior Citizen program to help older adults maintain their independence, and enhance their involvement in and with the community. Primary duties include:
  • Coordinating and assisting, on a community-wide basis, the work of organizations, professionals, and agencies engaged in providing service.
  • Acting as a liaison between community and governmental agencies in the development of community responsibilities for meeting the continuing needs of older adults.
  • Providing proper nutrition for the older adult population, and maintaining good health through the Senior Meal Program.
  • Offering increased mobility for older persons in Clovis through use of the Mobility Loan Closet, inner-city transportation and daily medical trips outside the City’s sphere of influence.

Funding for the Committee and Clovis Senior Center is provided by The City of Clovis, Clovis Veteran’s Memorial District, Title III Older Americans Act and funds from the Fresno Madera Area Agency on Aging, plus special projects and fundraising activities.
